Right to Be Wrong
words & music by Fredric O. Knipe

There's a trail of trials and errors
That begins at my front door
Take for instance each appliance that lies still
It's a trail of many missteps
But to trace it warms my heart
A museum of the freedom I have known

I have the right to be wrong
That no one can take away from me
Make all the perfect sense you want
I can still believe what I believe
I've learned from each mistake and I'm not done
I know the best mistakes are yet to come
So since we all agree that I must pay
To repair what I have done my way
I have the right to be wrong

I feel no shame in saying
That any large idea
Will still find me open-minded and enthused
The short term and the long shot
Whisper to my soft spot
The adventure of not knowing I will lose

I have the right to be wrong
That no one can take away from me
Make all the perfect sense you want
I can still believe what I believe
My secret is I have more fun than you
I've got more ways to go from which to choose
And since the damages are mine to pay
When my choices blow back in my face
I have the right to be wrong
